WCBG proudly supports the TJ Martell Foundation

Wagner College Broadcasting Group has aligned with the TJ Martell Foundation, the music industry’s largest foundation to fund research for leukemia, cancer, and AIDS. The TJ Martell Foundation “sources and supports early-stage research projects aimed at developing more effective clinical treatments for patients which otherwise might not be funded”. The foundation started out with a father’s promise to his sick son to raise $1 million dollars for leukemia research. Working with companies such as CMA, Billboard, and Universal Music Group, the foundation has now raised $270 million dollars over the years for research. The Band Perry, Ben Folds, and Elvis Costello are among the musicians aligned with TJ Martell.

WCBG will be hosting fundraisers throughout the year to raise money and contribute to musics fight against the crippling diseases of leukemia, cancer, and AIDS. As a supporter of the TJ Martell foundation, we believe that funding this research and supporting those who are suffering from them is of the utmost importance. Using our position and influence through the radio station we hope to bring attention to these diseases, and through charity fundraisers plan to raise money and contribute to TJ Martell’s cause.

WCBG hopes to use our love for music and radio to encourage those who are sick to keep fighting, and to support the race to find a cure.
